This course trains participants to audit an external QMS to the requirements of ISO 9001. It is accredited by RABQSA in association with AQS Management Systems and meets the training portion of the requirements for certification of individual Quality Systems Provisional Auditors, Quality Systems Auditors, and Quality Systems Lead Auditors.

While the course is designed to train auditors who perform third-party QMS audits (registrars, consultants, corporate auditors) it is also very helpful for those who want to "think like an auditor" (those designing an internal audit program, or responsible for implementing a QMS that must pass a registrar's scrutiny).

 

Purpose

This course trains participants to audit an external QMS to the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. It is fully accredited by RABQSA for training auditors to conduct third-party QMS audits for registrars.

  • Interpreting the requirements and terminology of  the ISO 9000 series
  • Viewing ISO 9000 requirements from an auditor's perspective
  • Leadership responsibilities
  • Third-party issues
  • QMS and conformity assessment techniques, auditing and follow-up
  • Audit planning and protocol development
  • QMS audit program design
  • US and International certification process
  • Certified Lead Auditing requirements and responsibilities

The course includes an RABQSA final examination that can be used to qualify internal or third party auditors.

Participants receive a course workbook.

Note

This course assumes that participants have basic knowledge of ISO 9001, like that gained through our "Basic Internal Auditing" class.
